The Land Transportation Office 9 will start its construction and rehabilitation of the Zamboanga City Licensing Office and Law Enforcement Division after the Holy  Week.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton called on all LTO 9  clientele to bear with the inconvenience that may come during the rehabilitation process of the office.

Abaton said the construction of infra projects is a long term strategy intended for the convenience of LTO-9 clientele. As a result, there will be bigger space and the area will be decongested.

The LTO-9 chief said applicants of driver’s license and other clients will be put in batches and undergo queing  system because the space in the conference hall where licensing personnel and Law enforcement  Division will be housed can not accommodate big volumes of people.

He said that a toilet for the LTO-9 clients will also be constructed in the LTO district offices in Pagadian City, Dipolog City and in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) has  created the “Oplan Ligtas Biyahe Semana Santa.”to ensure safety and security in sea, air and land travels.

Abaton, who is chairman of the Regional Management Council 9, disclosed that they will put-up help desks and  passenger assistance center (PAC) in the different terminals, airports and seaports in the region to assist travellers and commuters.

RMC 9 members will help and coordinate with local government units, the Philippine National Police and the military in checking the entry of  people in the different  terminals, airports, seaports and assist traffic decongestion in the region. — Allen Abastillas
