Bakery robbed of P8,000; cashier stabbed to death PDF Print E-mail

The cashier of Ric and Remy Bakeshop Guiwan branch was stabbed dead by robbers who fled with P8,000 in cash Thursday night.

The fatality was identified as Jocelyn Tul-id y Sta. Maria, 43, married, cashier of Ric and Remy Bakeshop branch located at the junction of Lobregat Highway and Aurora Village entrance

Police said Tul-id sustained a stab wound in the stomach and was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Initial police investigation disclosed that Tul-id and co-workers identified as Jennylin Sumicad, 19, helper, and Jeffrey Larano, 19, baker, all stay-in workers and residents of Curuan,  were inside the bakery after closing time around 9 p.m.

Larano went out of the bakeshop to buy toothpaste while Tul-id and Sumicad were already inside their room.

Few minutes later, Tul-id and Sumicad heard a noise which seemed like somebody was trying to destroy the cash vault. They peeped from the room and saw no one. When Tul-id opened the door of room, unidentified persons stabbed her in the body. She was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center where she was declared dead on arrival.

Police said that during an ocular investigation it was found out that the robber-killers took P8,000 from the bakeshop.

Fingerprints were lifted at the crime scene which may help police identify the perpetrator. — Dan Toribio Jr.
