3 kidnap suspects fall PDF Print E-mail

Three notorious wanted persons linked to a kidnap-for-ransom group were arrested in Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay last Monday afternoon.

Nabbed were Abral Abdusalam, brother of Waning Abdusalam (leader of a kidnapping group), Rating Hadjirul and Kismir Hadjirul alias Mamoy. They were arrested at the residence of Hadjirul around 5 p.m.

Police said the three suspects were arrested by men of the Provincial Intelligence branch of Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Public Safety Company, Alicia Police Station, Mabuhay Police Station. The arrest was made on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Josefino P Bael of the Regional Trial Court Branch 31.

Abdusalam has a pending warrant of arrest with criminal case number i-4585 for the crime of kidnapping and search warrant No. im-14-001 for violation of PD 1866 as amended by RA 10591 and violation of RA 9516

Rating and Kismir were arrested after the police recovered from their possession an Elisco M16 rifle with serial number rp 236597 and one fragmentation grenade, one M16 magazine, a holster, two upper garments camouflage (military/PNP uniform); one lower garment military uniform; two military magazine bandoliers and two cellphones.

The search was carried out in the presence of Chairman Hussien Hadjirul of Barangay Timbang-Timbang, Alicia Zamboanga Sibugay.

The arrested suspects as well as the seized firearm and other items were turned over to the Zamboanga Sibugay Police provincial Office.

Police said Abdusalam is a notorious member of a kidnap-for-ransom-group that is led by his brother Waning Abdusalam. The group was described as the most notorious kidnapping syndicate criminal group operating in Zamboanga Peninsula responsible for the previous series of kidnapping activities in the region. – Dan Toribio Jr.
