Cop hurt in scuffle with knife wielder PDF Print E-mail

A police was injured in a scuffle with a man who went berserk at the 4th floor of a downtown department store last Monday afternoon.

The man identified as Ronnie Dagodog, 23, of Galingon, Zamboanga del Norte, was shot in the foot after police could not convince him to calm down.

SPO2 Francisco Enot suffered injuries on the cheek and right shoulder.

A police report disclosed that Enot and Sr. Insp. Jade Mandi responded to a call that a man was unruly at the 4th floor of Gateway shopping center.

Enot and Mandi arrived at the shopping center and tried to convince Dagodog, who was armed with a knife, to calm down and surrender. It was not known why Dagodog went berserk.

Enot tried to subdue Dagodog but the latter continued being unruly. The latter was shot in the foot to incapacitate him.

Both Enot and Dagodog were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. — Dan Toribio Jr.
