Mayor Beng Climaco thanked the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) through the Zamboanga Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (ZFCCCI) for donating 17 generator sets to the different local law enforcement agencies yesterday morning.

Mayor Climaco said the gensets will help the law enforcers in providing uninterrupted security services to the city and its people, especially during this time when Zamboanga, just like any other places in Mindanao, is experiencing rotational blackouts every day.

“So we really thank both the Federation and the Zamboanga Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce for helping our police get the needed gensets,” Climaco said after witnessing the turnover of the gensets at the Zamboanga City Police Office.

Of the 17 gensets, 9 were given to the ZCPO, 1 each to Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The six other units will be given to other police stations that needed most the gensets.

Two of the gensets, one for the ZCPO and the other for TFZ, are 10KVA at 10,000 watts each that could power up two air-conditioning units, while the other units are 3KVA or 3,000 watts with 6.5hp engine and low fuel consumption.

The gensets were turned over by the officers of both chambers led by Eddie Chua to Sr. Supt. Angelito Casimiro, acting city director of the ZCPO, TFZ commander Col. Andrelino Colina and NBI-9 Regional Director Rustico Vigilia through the lady chief executive.

At the same time, Climaco also turned over the city government’s 11 handheld radio sets and accessories to Col. Colina for the use of the TFZ personnel.

Over the month, the mayor turned over similar communications sets to the some barangays and the police as well. — Vic Larato
