Atro Mining-Vitali, Inc. (AMVI) has joined the May 1 job fair as part of the 112th Labor Day celebrations here.

Mr. Elson Ogario, AMVI President, said “the company supports the government’s anti-poverty program through job creation and employment generation.”

Around 50 positions are offered by AMVI to all qualified applicants.

“Hundreds of jobs will be available once the development stage will start,” he revealed.

AMVI is set to start its development stage in its 2,077-hectare Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) area in Vitali, this city.

The company’s participation to the job fair underlines its commitment to poverty alleviation program of the government through livelihood and job creation, the AMVI president said.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said a total of 44,192 job vacancies both for local and overseas employment were up for grabs during 112th Labor Day Celebration here.

DOLE-Zamboanga City Field Office Labor Employment Office Ian Lahi announced the jobs fair was part of this year’s Labor Day celebration.

The fair was held at the covered court of the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Lahi said that 39,489 of the 44,192 job vacancies are for overseas employment and the remaining 4,703 are for local employment.

He said that 22 of the 44 participating companies are overseas placement agencies while the other 22 are for local employment.

This year’s Labor Day celebration is anchored on the theme “Sa Sipag, Tiyaga, at Talino, Buong Mundo Saludo sa Manggagawang Pilipino.”
