I have been to our world-famous (one of the only few pinkish sand islands in the world) Sta. Cruz Island several times. And thanks to civic group Yellow Boat Hope Foundation (YBHF) co-founder Dr. Anton Lim, there are now more reasons now why Zamboanga City should be proud and protect it.

Dr. Lim visited the island this week and studied the possibility of generating income for island inhabitants at the same time to protect the island’s environment. He delightful shared in hi FB account what he discovered that I myself never thought it existed. He was accompanied by our good Department of Tourism -9 Director Mary June Bugante and international journalist Frencie Carreon. See the pictures in these spread what we can see more over there aside from swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and frolicking in the sand.
To go to the island, it is highly recommended that one must register at the official docking port in Paseo del Mar. Security is provided by the City Administration in cooperation with Task Force Zamboanga.

Job 12:7-10 – “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” (NIV)
