Indian, Calarian resident hurt in separate shootings PDF Print E-mail

An Indian national and a resident of Calarian were wounded in separate gun attacks in Putik and Calarian last Thursday night.

Sukhjinder Singh, 28, an Indian national and residing in San Antonio de Padua, Putik, was shot and wounded by two gunmen near his residence around 8:25 p.m.

Singh sustained gunshot wounds in the head. The bullets exited to the neck and to the stomach. He was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center.

Singh, who is engaged in lending business, had just come from the house of his cousin Raj Singh in Guiwan Porcentro and was on his way home riding a Honday XRM motorcycle, when two men tailed him and upon reaching near his house, one of them shot him repeatedly.

Police recovered a slug and two spent shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Haidil Saddaramil y Sanaani, 59, married, of Hilltop, Upper Calarian, was shot and wounded by one of two men riding on a motorcycle around 6 p.m.

Police said Saddaramil was driving on a motorcycle on his way when two men aboard another motorcycle chased and the backrider shot him twice.

Saddaramil sustained gunshot wound in the left armpit, with the bullet exiting to the chest.

Although wounded, He managed to drive his motorcycle to the house of his brother where he sought assistance for him to be taken to the hospital.

The gunmen sped away after the incident, police said.
