7 more victims of human trafficking rescued in Zambo PDF Print E-mail

Operatives of the City Police Office’s Women and Children Section under City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo and the Visayan Forum rescued seven more victims of human trafficking in two separate occasions the other day.

Around 7 p.m. Monday, the Women and Children Section of Sr. Insp. Gemma Luna received a call from the Visayan Forum stating that they intercepted three alleged victims of human trafficking/illegal recruitment at the port area.

The police proceeded to the office of the Visayan Forum and identified the rescued victims as Sayma Acdalin, 17, a native of North Cotabato, Jaent Prayco, 20, of Capiz, Roxas City and Baihani Amilon, 16 of Pikit, North Cotabato.

Authorities also apprehended a certain Narshelane Omar, who allegedly facilitated and assisted them to purchase tickets from Zamboanga City to Sandakan, Sabah Malaysia.

Few hours later, the Women and Children Section with the Visayan Forum personnel proceeded to the airport and rescued four more victims of illegal recruitment who were identified as Lianda Zacaria, 31, of Maguindanao, Norma Aliman, 30, of Sinsuat, Maguindanao, Liza Martizano, 26 and Amera Salipada, 28 of Kabuntalan, Maguindanao.

The police also arrested Racma Said of Canelar, this city, who was the one who fetched the four victims to the airport.

All the victims were promised job in Sabah, Malaysia, but they possess no legal documents.
