Lilia Nuño to grace Family Forum today PDF Print E-mail

Councilor Lilia M. Nuño, chairperson City Council’s Committee on Women, will grace the Family Forum today, April 8, 2011 scheduled to be held at the covered court of the Sta. Maria Central School.
The gathering will be participated by rural based organizations like women, farmers and youth associations.

During the forum, all the associations will hold an election of officers and organized into 20 groups for schedules to participate in hands-on basic computer training programs.

Nuño called on the women, farmers and the youth in each barangay to join in today’s activities for them to become active and participative, adding that once they are organized they will be taught by experts on livelihood and development of skills for their economic upliftment.

Nuño and the members of the City Council’s Committee on Women are also scheduled to visit Davao City and observe the city’s “good gender development practices”.

On the other hand, Hannah Nuño, executive officer of Councilor Lilia Nuño,  disclosed that there will be a launching of the Search for the Most Ecological Balance Community 2011 on April 14, 2011 at 9 a.m. at the Barangay Mampang Resettlement Project Phase I, San Juan Niño Village.

The launching will teach the people in the barangay to become aware and to actively participate and help each other in preserving the environment and mantain cleanliness of the environment including the segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable garbages so that the former can be used as non-organic fertilizer and the latter can be made into recycle products.    Nuño said they are now teaching the Badjaos in Taluksangay on cleanliness and preservation and protection of the environment. — Allen Abastillas
