Tailor releases boy in Pagadian hostage drama PDF Print E-mail

A tailor was jailed after he held a two-year-old boy hostage at Purok Kawayan, Balangasan District, Pagadian city last Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the suspect as Russel Tecson, 38, single, of Barangay Ilog, Balangasan District.
A police report disclosed that the boy was playing with other children around 1:30 p.m. when Tecson who was allegedly under the influence of liquor appeared and grabbed him.

Police said that Tecson, who was armed with a kitchen knife held the boy hostage . Moments later, operatives of the Pagadian City Police Station led by Supt. Primitivo Lorenzo rushed to the scene and negotiated with Tecson to release the boy. After some hours of negotiation, Tecson freed the boy and submitted himself to the police.

Police said the boy was turned over to his parents in good physical condition.
Tecson was taken to the police station and was detained for the filing of charges against him in court.
