House sprayed with bullets: 2 teens hurt; 1 dead, 1 hurt in 2 other attacks PDF Print E-mail

A 17-year-old girl and her younger sister were wounded when a gunman rained their house with bullets in Nazareth, Culianan at dawn yesterday.

The victims were identified as Maryjoy Tejano y Labrado, 17, and Jessabel, 14.

In two other gun attacks yesterday afternoon, a 63-year-old native of Tawi-Tawi was shot dead in San Roque, while a man was shot and wounded by his younger brother in Baliwasan Chico.

In the Culianan incident, Maryjoy sustained a bullet wound in the right arm, while Jessabel was hit in the back of the body. Both were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The victims’ older sister, Baby Grace Tejano Usman, 23, married and pregnant with one son, told DZT that they were sleeping with her husband Bensuud inside the house of their sister when they heard successive gunfire coming from the outside.

After seven bursts of gunfire, Baby Grace found out her two sisters were hit by bullets. She screamed for help.

Men of the Culianan Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Helen Galvez recovered seven spent shells of 5.56 caliber (M-16 bullets) about five meters away from the house.

In an interview, Baby Grace said after the gun attack, they recovered outside their house two notes with racist slur words written in tagalog .

Baby Grace said she and her husband had been staying in Tictabon before her parents bought last January a 200-square meter lot at the Eugenio Compound in Nazareth, Culianan where they built two low-cost houses made up of light materials.

Baby Grace and her family temporarily stay at the house that was first built and owned by her sister, while their house is still under construction.

Baby Grace said they are peace-loving citizens and are engaged in a small time fish trading in Culianan.

Evidences were retrieved by men of the Scene of the Crime Operative for further investigation.

Shot dead in San Roque was Sabturani Jailani. He was shot by two men riding tandem on a Honda XRM motorcycle around 4 p.m. No other details were available as of press time.

On the other hand, Randee Bayabos Banguih was in serious condition after he was shot by his younger brother at Nanca Drive, Baliwasan Chico yesterday afternoon.

Randee Bayabos Banguih sustained three gunshot wounds and was rushed to Brent Hospital where he was described as in serious condition.

Police identified the suspected assailant as Imran Banguih, 18. – Dan Toribio Jr.
