“Making our schools safer,” is Dep Ed’s theme of this year’s Brigada Eskwela.

In preparation for the opening of classes on June 2, 2014, the Department of Education, Isabela City Schools Division is conducting its annual National Schools Maintenance Week on May 19-23, 2014.

The program starts with a parade today, May 19, 2014 at 8 am. Spearheaded by Schools Division Superintendent Hja. Hilda U. Babon , promotional staff, secondary and elementary school administrators, teachers ,private college schools, LGU’s, NGO’s, AFP, PNP, Coastguard, religious groups, alumni, parents, students and others will join the activity.

The parade starts at the Basilan National High School Grandstand and will pass by Sunrise, Menzi ,Port Area.and going to Malamawi National High School for the opening and launching.

The participants will help in constructing five make shift classrooms to accommodate the huge increase of enrollees for Malamawi National High School for school year 2014-2015.

Malamawi National High School under the leadership of Dr. Arnel B. Hajan was adjudged as third runner-up during the search for best regional Brigada Eskwela implementers in 2013 with a rating of 90% for small school category.

Division Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Mr. Eugene Andrion said, “the said activity is to invite and attract stakeholders and involve them in realizing DepEd’s goal in making our school ready for the opening of the classes on June 2, 2014.

Everyone who became a part of the Isabela City Schools Division Brigada Eskwela 2014 is contributing a lot for the cause. Because of your help, our children will now have a school that is conducive to learning. A school that they can call home.
