All systems go for today’s formal opening of “PRISAA National Collegiate Games 2011,” as PRISAA national hierarchy including tournament directors, manager and technical officials met for a “Solidarity Meeting” at the Enriquez Sports Complex yesterday.

A grand Olympic-type parade will be held at 3 p.m. today from Pettit Barracks to the sports complex.
This will be followed by the formal opening of the games with Mayor Celso Lobregat as the guest speaker together with District 1 Congresswoman Ma. Isabelle “Beng” Climaco-Salazar and District 2 Congressman Erbie A. Fabian delivering their respective messages.

The “Solidarity Meeting” highlighted the presentation of the general schedule led by PRISAA Executive Director Elbert “Bong” Atilano for the entire duration of the games.
This is to promote friendship and camaraderie among participants.

“This is to solidify the interest of making the National Collegiate Games a success as a manifestation of one’s concern on the promotion and development of sports,” said PRISAA National Executive Director Prof. Robert Milton Calo.

A total of 19 sports and athletic events will see action in the playing field among the private schools nationwide. —MLF
