Showing his concern for the inmates of the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center, District 2  Councilor Miguel “Mike” Alavar III has committed to give gift packs to detainees who will call their loved ones over the radio through a public service portion of DXVP’s Bosses de Zamboanga program hosted by veteran broadcaster Arsenio “Rawhide” Nuevo from 10 to 11:45 a.m.

The public service potion is scheduled every Monday and the first edition was aired yesterday.
Five inmates are being selected every Monday and are given few minutes to call their loved ones on the air.

Nuevo anchors the program and entertains the inmates by chatting with them on telephone.
The five inmates will receive gift packs courtesy of Alavar.

The aim of the public service portion of the program is to remind the relatives of  inmates who have no visitors at City Jail. The program is being supported by the ZCRC under City Jail Warden Sr. Supt. Ester Pepito.

Alavar said that through the radio program, the inmates can communicate with their relatives or loved ones in any part of the city.

Alavar added that he will continue to his support to the detainees regardless of where they come from. — Dan Toribio Jr.
