PRC-Zambo gets tanker for IDP’s water supply PDF Print E-mail

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Zamboanga City Chapter got a boost from the PRC national headquarters in terms of providing potable water to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in this city.

PRC-Zamboanga City Chapter Administrator Victor Liozo, Jr. they recently received a newly-purchased 5,000-liter water tanker from PRC Chairman Richard Gordon to use in the distribution of potable water to the IDPs.

Liozo said they will use the tanker in the distribution of potable water to the transitory site in Taluksangay, 19 kilometers east of this city.

The Taluksangay transitory site houses 369 families comprising of 1,792 individuals.

The transitory site serves as temporary shelter of families displaced by the September 2013 siege while rehabilitation of the affected areas is underway.

The PRC-Zamboanga City Chpater in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has also installed water bladders in other transitory sites and evacuation centers.
