Men of the Naga Municipal Police Station have apprehended three fishing vessels and arrested its 15 crew members who were caught engaging in illegal fishing in that municipality the other day.

A police report disclosed that lawmen were on seaborne patrol when they spotted the three  vessels with its crews violating the country’s fishing law.

The three fishing boats locally known as “zipper-zipper” are owned by Dante Denoy y Lapis, 44, married, of Poblacion, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay and Marlon Guimalan y Dela Penia, 33, married,  of Taytay manubo, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The 15 boat crews were identified as, Ronilo Napigkit y Vicenti, 21, single, Winie Dinoy y Lapis, 50, married, Renato Ambato y Mendoza, 27, single, Sany Justiniane y Gumabon, 21, single, Allan  Villacorta y Jano, 24, Ariel Dela Peña y Maghinay, 28, married, Jeffrey Bantilan y Tiking, 18, single, Dante Dinoy y Lapis, 44, married, Yhan Dela Peña y Maghinay, 24, single, Dante Martinito y Miranda, 39, married, Rolando Rodrigo y Estareja, 44, married, Arnold Bernardo y Ongos, 30, single, Arman Ongos Bernardo, 34, married, Ricky Silud y Papa, 24, single, and Denicito Oroc, 31, married, all resident of all resident of Barangay Poblacion, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Those apprehended and the confiscated items were brought to the Naga Police Station. The latter were subsequently turned over  to Department of Agriculture/ Fisheries Technician of Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay for proper disposition.
