Police are investigating two robbery incidents that took place in Canelar and at Tomas Claudio Street recently.

Bonifacio Tan y Miranda, 58, married, of San Jose Gusu and president of the Tan Association Zamboanga Chapter, reported to the Central Police Station that Noel Uy, a tenant of the Yu We Tong Association Building, located at the junction of Calixto and Tomas Claudio Streets called him through landline phone last June 3, informing that a robbery was perpetrated in in the building around 3:10 p.m.

Investigators led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines proceeded to scene and found out that three windows were destroyed by the robbers for them to be able to get in.

The antique collections made of bronze and metal were in disarray. They were recovered near the main door downstairs while some were left scattered on the floor upstairs.

Police said that four antique containers made of bronze and some made of metal, were missing and believed to have been taken by the robbers.

In another incident, around 7:41 p.m. last Thursday, Gerry Langi of Mayor Jaldon Street, Canelar, reported to the police that a  robbery took place at LC Motor Mart located along Mayor Jaldon St.

Police said a total of 15 assorted motorcycles hubs were discovered missing.

The drawer inside the store was removed from its original place and their telephone line was destroyed.

Police said the robbers entered the store by detaching the chain attached to the steel gate of the said establishment.

Police estimated about P15,000 worth of damages to property. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
