The Highway Patrol Group-9 on Thursday conducted lectures on road safety  and  protection of life on  accident prevention and  anti-carnapping among schoolers of Rio Hondo  Elementary School during their first week of classes.

Sr. Supt. Severino B. Agustin, HPG-9 chief, said the lectures coincided with the distribution of school bags made by the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Rainbow Girls at the Rio  Hondo Elementary School.

According to Agustin, HPG-9 wants to inculcate on the minds of young schoolers that road safety and accident are very important for the protection of their lives when using the different roads in the city.

“We want the young schoolers to be responcible in looking after their precious life so that when they travel through any streets or roads an accident can be prevented. We want to impart on the young kids the Traffic Code and traffic signs so that  when they are traversing the streets they know what is road safety,” Agustin explained,

The team of lecturers was led by Inspector Joseph M. Fontanilla Jr.

Meanwhile, Agustin commended his different Provincial Teams for job well done in assisting road traffic in the different highways in the region during the opening of classes last June 2, 2014.
