The Highway Patrol Group Provincial Team chiefs in the region and some chosen HPG operatives underwent an  electronic learning  study at Camp Batalla during the HPG-9 Second Quarter conference yesterday morning.

Sr. Supt. Severino B.  Agustin, HPG-9 chief, said the E- learning study is one of the programs of the Philippine National Police that where policemen learn to familiarize with and operate computers for police operations.

According to Agustin, HPG operatives must know how to use computers most especially in connecting and surfing the Land Transportation Office website, especially the HPG Motor Vehicle Information Management System ( MVISM ) because it is  where all carnapped or stolen motorvehicles are listed.

MVISM is interlinked with all HPG commands nationwide.

Using MVISM in every operation in recognizing a suspected carnapped or stolen motorvehicle is very essential for the recovery of carnapped units, Agustin.

He directed the team Leaders to be extra vigilant and alert in their areas of jurisdiction as motorcycles are the easy target of carnappers or thieves most especially those units parked in schools, colleges and universities and downtown area. —  Allen Abastillas
