A cellular phone technician was stabbed dead by an unidentified assailant along Pura Briliantes St. last Thursday night.

The fatality was identified as Raymund Velasco y Bayos, 34, temporarily residing at Estrada Street, Tetuan and a native of PH2 Pabahay 2000, Muzon City, San Juan Del Monte, Bulacan.
Velasco sustained a stab wound in the left portion of the chest and died on the spot.

A police report disclosed that Velasco together with his girlfriend left Asian Collection Cell Phone Repair Shop where he was working around 2 p.m..

At 7 p.m., he returned to the shop to get his daily income and other personal belongings then walked along Pura Briliantes St. But when he was in front of Padjak Boon San pawnshop, an unidentified man armed with a knife appeared and hugged, then stabbed him in the chest.

The knife wielder left the place and walked towards Sucabon, according to witnesses.
Velasco was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo disclosed that his men were still gathering information that would lead to the arrest of the killer. — Dan Toribio Jr.
