3,280 join Zamcelco’s 39th annual assembly PDF Print E-mail

A total of 3,280 member-consumers joined the 39th Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) of the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Zamcelco) held at the City Coliseum, Tetuan, this city the other day.

This year’s theme is: “Creating a transformational leadership and quality management system”.

Highlighting the occasion was the oath-taking ceremony of the incoming Board of Directors who recently won in the District special elections.

The newly inducted members of the Board of Directors are Gammar Hassan (District 3), Michael Dela Serna (District VIII) and Wilhelmino Bazan (District 5) together with their counterpart MSEAC officers in the their respective districts.

The assembly deliberated the two financial reports as presented by the organizer.

Member-consumer Arturo “Tuting” Cabidog questioned the cash advancement from P6million in 2012 and pegged at P12 milllion for the current year.

Zamcelco General Manager George Ledesma clarified by saying “ese todo ya socede na tiempo del NEA supervision, antes pa manada quita pregunta ojala taki quita para aclara,” Ledesma said in the vernacular.

Ledesma said the audit team of the National Electrification Administration (NEA) is expected to arrive by next month to check the coop’s financial statement since the time of NEA’s Project Supervisor and Acting General Manager Jesus Castro.

The assembly approved a resolution requesting the City Council to exempt the coop  from the real property tax and franchise tax as the assembly approved to pay the city government P3.71 million (real property/franchise taxes) for a 12-month scheme.

The assembly also approved a resolution making the entire San Jose Cawa-Cawa under District 1.
