Almarim Centi Tillah, president of the Islamic Society of the Philippines, has lamented the fighting in Libya and urged all concerned to stop it as it is causing misery and death to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Tillah said the International Community is short-sighted by imposing a no-fly zone over Libya.      “Now they are retreating. British Prime Minister said they will not in any circumstance give arms to the rebels. What is there to do” What is the NATO’s ultimate plan if not PEACE,” said the former Tawi-Tawi governor in a statement.

He said the NATO should rethink its position carefully because lives are at stake on both sides.
“We cannot stand aside while the killings are going on,” Tillah said.

He said the African Union, which is compose mostly of Muslim nations have a peace proposal, but it has so far been ignored, “because it was not sponsored by the West.”

“This cannot be. This cannot, continue this way. Peace at all cost should be established in the Middle East,”Tillah emphasized.
