The city government headed by Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday unveiled the newly constructed two-storey building for the Procurement Service Sub-Depot Zamboanga at Legionnaire St., fronting Zone 4 Barangay Hall, this city.

Costing P10.6 million, the building was implemented and funded during the incumbency of former mayor now District 1 Rep. Celso Lobregat.  However, actual construction of the building started on Dec. 16, 2013 and was completed last July 3 by GHR Construction.

The top five awardees for national government agencies category were the Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) represented by the president herself Dr. Milabel E. Ho.

Aside from supplying government agencies with cheaper and quality common use materials and equipment requirements, the Procurement Service (PS) Zamboanga Sub-Depot, formerly occupying a space at the Mayor Vitaliano D. Agan Gymnasium in Tetuan, caters to the needs of all government offices for office supplies and equipment without passing through the rigorous bidding process.— Vic Larato
