Woman drowns in Licomo river PDF Print E-mail

A 45-year-old woman drowned at the flooded river of Licomo Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Lucita Vidad Laurente, married.
Vidad was swept away by strong water current while she was trying to cross the river at Sitio Sinoropan amid heavy downpour.
Police said Laurente and her husband with other relatives were on their way hom from their banana and corn farm when she tried to cross the river.
Laurente’s husband Rogelio told the police that Lucita slipped on the mud and fell on the deep part of the river where he was carried away by raging water.
The victim’s body was retrieved by her husband and other relatives later and was taken to the Vitali Lying-in Clinic for post mortem examination. – Dan Toribio Jr.
