PAGADIAN CITY – Police are exerting efforts to unmask the identities of motorcycle riding-tandem gunmen who shot and killed a school principal here Wednesday.

City police chief Supt. Glenn Dulawan identified the victim as Dindo Barce, school principal of the Pagadian National High School

Dulawan said Barce was driving his motorcycle on the way to school when one of two men riding tandem on another motorcycle opened fire on him  around 7 a.m. in Barangay Kagawasan, this city.

Dulawan said Barce’s wife, who was with him in the motorcycle, suffered bruises as the motorcycle they were riding crashed on the pavement.

He said Barce was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

In another shooting incident, Ensar Maulana y Utto, 26, married, a tricycle driver and a resident of Purok Tilibong, Upper Campo Islam, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, was shot to death by two gunmen last Monday night.

Police investigation disclosed that Maulana was standing along Rizal Avenue, Brgy San Pedro, Pagadian City when gunmen aboard a white Russi motorcycle with no plate number arrived and shot him in close range.

Maulana sustained a gunshot wound on his head.

The killers fled to unknown direction.

Recovered at the crime scene were one empty 45 caliber shell and one slug of caliber 45 pistol.

In Siay,  Zamboanga Sibugay, Antonio Peralta Ramos Jr., 54, married, and a farmer, was shot to death by unidentified killers.also around 6:30 p.m.Monday  at Purok-5, Brgy. Salinding.

Initial police investigation disclosed that Ramos parked his motorcycle at the side of his house when suddenly an unidentified man approached from behind and shot him hitting at the back of his head.

The gunman fled towards unknown direction after shooting the victim.

Recovered at the crime scene was an empty shell of .45 caliber pistol.

Police were still investigating the case. — HDC
