Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD), in its desire to give better services to the constituents of Zamboanga City, continually seeks to upgrade its operations through the installation and/or repair of its pipelines, equipment and other appurtenances.

This service activity then entails either the replacement and/or the upkeep and repair of all existing serviceline, feederline, and mainline leakages.  Water pipeline replacement is regularly done to monitor that only safe, potable water is being distributed to all householdconsumers in Zamboanga City as it is one of the office’s priority activity.

Additionally, the activity also pursues to mitigate the impacts of non-revenue water which are lost to the ZCWD.

The Governor Camins pipeline project started on May 9, 2014. The estimated timeline for this is 190 calendar days and its estimated cost is PhP12, 214, 868.62.  The project will essentially supplement water service lines from the intersection of San Jose Road to Baliwasan Grande, Baliwasan Chico Road to Governor Camins Road to Junction of Mayor JaldonStreet to Governor CaminsAvenue.

The following details the scope of work for the project: a. The pipelines, its supply &laying of 1,497 ln.m. of  200mmØ PVC Pipeline

b. Supply & Laying of 1,497 ln.m. of  50mmØ PE Secondary Line

c. Installation of 4-units of 150mmØ Commercial Type Fire Hydrant w/ concrete barricades

d. Installation of 2-units of  100mmØ Fire Hydrant w/ concrete barricade

e. Transfer of 40 units individual service connections (tapped from secondary line)

Another pipeline project which ZCWD started isthe construction/improvement/rehabilitation of the Mampang and Arena Blanco Pipelinewith  anapproved budget cost of PhP 8,697,820.60, and, to date, is 97.02percent (%) completed as of May 18, 2014.

Likewise, another pipeline replacement project implemented by the office would bethe re-development of the water and sanitation facilities at the conflict area (Phase I) with a project cost of PhP  8,764,726.42.
