Army soldier shot dead in Sindangan PDF Print E-mail

An army soldier was gunned down in a disco bar in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte at dawn last Thursday.

The fatality was identified as Cpl. Medel Tabbada y Bistayan, 35, married, belonging to the army’s Special Forces based in Barangay Bucana, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte and a resident of Kabacan, North Cotabato.

Police said that Tabbada was inside the Freeway disco bar around 3 a.m. when a gunman appeared and shot him twice.

When Tabbada fell slumped on the floor the gunman fled.

Police said the victim was rushed to the Sindangan District Hospital by Sindangan policemen for treatment, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dr Antonio Gandiongco.

Investigators recovered two empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
