The City Council’s Committee on Trade, Investment and Industry chaired by Councilor BG Guingona in partnership with Senator Bam Aquino, chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Trade Investment and  Industry, plans to conduct in Zamboanga City a training-seminar on Micro Small Medium Entrepreneurship.

Guingona, who along with chosen employees of the City Council attended a seminar on trade investment last week in Davao  City, disclosed that his office will look for an area for the office of the committee.

“This is a fresh idea... most probably the building for training will be any vacant building space in Zamboanga City,’ Guingona said.

He explained that the micro small medium entrepreneurship training seminar is provided for under the Republic Act No. 10664 otherwise known as “Go Negosyo Act” intended for the people for them to be able to earn income through livelihood means.

Guingona said under this program of Sen. Aquino and his committee, he will look for funding to provide loans to recipients for them to start a business.

The committee will also conduct a survey on demand and supply for the start of new businesses.

Among the small scale business examples are meat shop, buying and selling of fish including  dried fish, barber shop, beauty parlor, buying and selling of grains, home made products and food production. — Allen Abastillas
