2 army spies killed in ambush PDF Print E-mail

Two army intelligence agents were killed in an ambush in Purok Sanito, Dalangin, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay, last Tuesday morning.

Killed were Cpl. Abdul Suhod and PFC Abdulhalik Imlani, both members of the Army’s 12th MICO, 1MIB, 1st Tabak Division based in Barangay Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

A police report disclosed that Suhod and Imlani were riding on separate motorcycles coming from Barangay Longilo where they checked a reported recruitment of Moro National Liberation Front on their way back to headquarters around 1 p.m. when gunmen positioned on both sides of the road opened fire on them at Purok Sanito.

They sustained multiple bullet wounds in the different parts of the body and died on the spot.

The ambushers escaped before responding policemen arrived at the scene.

Recovered at the scene were 20 spent shells of M16 rifle, six of .45 caliber pistol and three rounds of live ammunition of the same caliber.

Titay policemen backed up by army troops have launched a hot pursuit operation against the attackers.
