A fishing boat crew who was seized by three unidentified gunmen off Bolong Wednesday afternoon last week  was found dead off Manicahan yesterday morning.

The body of Bong-Bong Sabado, 40, married, a native of Quezon City, was fished out of the sea by some fishermen, villagers and policemen who brought it to shore.

Police said that no less than Sabado’s wife identified the body during an ocular investigation.

The body was immediately buried as it was already in a state of decomposition.

Sabado along with some boat crews  were aboard a fishing vessel when three men aboard a pumpboat appeared and took him.

The three men handed to Sabado’s companions an extortion note intended for their employer.

In the note there was a cell phone number written. The abductors told Sabado’s companions to inform their employer and to call them before they would release Sabado.

However when the abductors holding Sabado left the place, the six fishing boat crews found out the cell phone number given lacks one digit and can’t be used.

The Sangali police were still digging deeper on the case and trying to establish the identities of the abductors.  – Dan Toribio Jr.
