Taking off the P4.9M port remittance in the first half of the year, the Regional Ports Management Authority (RPMA-ARMM) is more determined to target high ports performance for the second semester, General Manager Hanie A. Bud said during the opening ceremony of a special conference with Port Managers, Terminal Supervisors and Cargo Handling Operators held at LM Metro Hotel in Zamboanga City.

“This is the reason why we are conducting a series of capacity building activities for our port officials and employees as well as developing a tight-knit better relationship with cargo handling operators (CHOs). These are aimed to strengthen organizational development capacity of the Authority and keeping abreast on current trading trends in our region,” Bud said.

Assistant General Manager for Operation Al-Habson H. Antao stressed in his overview message that the conference is aimed to reconcile statistical data on cargo handling services, come-up concrete activities and strategies to increase revenue collections.

“The series of capacity trainings/seminars such as re-orientation on basic bookkeeping, and human resource development seminar are aimed to improve fiscal management and ports performance in time for the upcoming transition of the Bangsamoro government, declared Assistant General Manager for Admin and Finance Ersan I. Warad.

The Authority is very much optimistic to double its revenue collection before this fiscal year ends while embarking on new strategies to attract port investors and partners.
