WMPC donated library at Putik school inaugurated PDF Print E-mail

The Western Mindanao Power Corp. (WMPC), the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office, and the City Government and inaugurated yesterday morning a new library at the Putik Central School.

Supt. Pedro Melchor Natividad, Councilor Jerry Perez, who is also ABC President/Putik Barangay Chairman, and ESP-III Putik Central School Lepidaptera Villanueva officially opened the library in a ribbon cutting ceremony after the blessing officiated by  Rev. Fr. Teofilo Pimente.

The library is a donated project of WMPC, one of the power generating facilities of Alsons Consolidated Resources Inc., in partnership with the city government and DepEd Schools Division in the city.

WMPC spent some P1 million for the completion of the library equipped with assorted books, table chairs, teacher tables, organic chairs, bookshelves, flat screen television (43"} with home theater, four pieces wall fans, kiddie tables and kiddie chairs.

Mr. Santillan also led the turn-over of WMPC donations-589 chairs and signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the donation of 300 other chairs with armrest to the Bunguiao Elementary School as well as the renovation and acquisition of equipment for the 1-storey home Economics building for Bolong National High School.

Under the MoA, the donation of chairs with armrest will go to Ayala National High School — 80 units, Pasobolong Elenetary School — 80 units,  Divisoria Elementary School — 80 units.; Lubigan National High School (Curuan Annex) - 50 units; Mampang Elementary School — 100 units; Mercedes National High School — 69 units; Tetutan Central School — 80 units and Zamboanga City High School — 50 units
