Public warned on San Mig coffee mix PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) forwarded to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) a report made by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, Canada with regard to San Mig Brand of 3-in -1 Instant Coffee Mix which was recalled from the Canadian market by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

According to the CFIA, San Mig brand 3-in-1 Coffee Mix contained milk which was undeclared on the product’s label. People who are allergic to milk should not consume the said products. The CFIA forwarded their findings to the DFA who then forwarded the same to the DTI. In a memorandum received by DTl-Zamboanga City Office (DTI-ZCO) dated August 26, 2014, Undersecretary Atty. Victorio Mario A. Dimagiba identified the following items affected by the recall in Canada.

1) SAN MIG 3 IN 1 CUFFFFMIX- Original (140g 14gX10 sachets,

With UPC Outer Package: 4-806513-740022 Inner Package: 4-806513-740008)

2) SAN MIG 3 IN 1 COFFFMIX- Original (14g with UPC Outer Package: 4-806513-740008),

DTI-ZCO warns the general public who have milk allergies to avoid consuming the said products. The DTI Head Office in Metro Manila also referred the issue to the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) for further investigation.
