The city government of Zamboanga headed by Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday morning paid tribute to 69 employees who have rendered 25 years of invaluable service to the city of Zamboanga.

Mayor Climaco and City Human Resource and Management Officer Dr. Jane Bascar personally handed over a gold loyalty ring and a tribute book to each of the awardees during the program held on the second floor lobby of City Hall.

Leading this year’s awardees were Engr. Rene dela Cruz, department head of the City General Services Office, and Assistant City Treasurer Romelita Candido.

The City Human Resource and Management Office, which takes charge of the Service Awards program, said the activity was on its 7th year since 2007 when then Mayor Celso Lobregat issued an executive order to honor the employees who have served the city government for 25 years.

It is also pursuant to the city government’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE).— Vic Larato
