On orders of City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo, police investigators are looking at all angles on the ambush, grenade throwing and spraying of bullets in Mampang and Talon-Talon last Tuesday night.

Deocampo disclosed that in the ambush of two policemen in Mampang, police have immediately identified the gunmen and appropriate charges were already forwarded to the city prosecutor office.

Deocampo is optimistic that the perpetrators identified as Jabar and Adzar Abubakar will be arrested very soon upon the issuance of a warrant by the court. They reportedly went into hiding after they ambushed PO1 Emir Ladjamalik and PO1 Sahibul Ladjamalik and their cousin Ferdimar Alim. The three escaped unhurt.

The two other incidents were a grenade throwing and spraying of bullets at Ituralde Drive, Talon-Talon. No one was hurt.

The grenade attack took place at the residence of Rashid Molana, while the house of Toni Maldan was rained with bullets.

Residents told the police that around 9:40 p.m. they saw five men armed with high powered rifles walking towards the house of Molana where they lobbed a grenade,

After the explosion, the armed men returned to the main road but one of them who was armed with an M-14 rifle opened fire on Maldan’s house.

Deocampo and his men were still gathering more information in the area to determine the identities of the attackers.
