5.1 quake rattles Tawi-Tawi PDF Print E-mail

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolted the province of Tawi-Tawi on Tuesday morning, September 9, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake, which was caused by a movement on the earth’s core, struck 51 kilometers Southeast of South Ubian at around 8:26 am.

Intensity 3 was felt in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi while Intensity 1 was felt in Zamboanga City.

There were no reported damages or casualties but Phivolcs said it was expecting aftershocks. – Rappler.com
