Operatives of the Sta. Maria Police Station arrested two persons who have been wanted for murder in two separate operations along Gov. Lim Avenue and in Talisayan last Thursday afternoon.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo identified those arrested as Varlito Perez, Jr., 28, married, of Luyahan, Pasonanca and his brother-in-law Arnel Salazar, 28, married, of Boalan.

Both were wanted for murder with case number 23423.  The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Gregorio Dela Pena of Regional Trial Court Branch 12 dated December 11, 2007 with no bail bond recommended.

Perez was collared along Gov. Lim Avenue while he was driving a tricycle. Salazar was arrested in one of the sardines companies where he was working in Talisayan.

The two were tagged in the killing of a certain Alison during a birthday party in Manicahan sometime in 2007.

The suspects were detained at the Sta. Maria Police Station pending their turnover to the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center. — Dan Toribio Jr.
