3 theft suspects tortured at Patalon poultry farm PDF Print E-mail

Three poultry farm workers — two of them minors— were allegedly tied and forced to stand next to burning mount of charcoal embers after they were accused of stealing chicken feeds at a poultry farm in Barangay Patalon, west of Zamboanga City.

Santiago A. Edgardo called the Labuan Police Station on Wednesday to report that three persons including his grandson who is a minor were allegedly tied with an electric cable by Kenneth G. Macrohon at the latter’s poultry farm in Patalon.

Men of the Labuan Police Station led by Insp. Mario Infante rushed to the place where they were met by Barangay kagawads of Patalon — Aripin S. Arasani and Arola S. Lopito and Barangay Tanod Husin A. Bayani.

Infante and his men saw the three theft suspects already untied, but the charcoal embers and wires used were still in the place of incident.

The three were identified as Jermiz C. Santiago, 15, Reynante M. Tug, 15, and Marvin B. Ustalan, all workers at Macrohon’s poultry farm and residents of Agrarrian Patalon, this city.

Initial police investigation disclosed that around 10 a.m.on Wednesday, the three workers were allegedly tied and forced to stand next to a mount of charcoal embers after they were accused of stealing chicken feeds.

The Barangay tanods turned over Macrohon to theLabuan Police Station for questioning.

The three workers were brought to theLabuan Public Hospital for immediate medical attention. — Cris E. Pantaleon WMSU Intern)
