Police have busted another motorcycle theft gang with the arrest of five persons allegedly behind the series of motorcycle thefts in this city in separate police operations in San Roque and Guiwan on Sunday

Ten stolen motorcycles were recovered in the same operations.

Arrested were Rodolfo Ramos y Alas-as, 44, married, of Mampang, Rodini Delos Reyes, 28, of Culianan, Jomar Gandawali, 34, of San Roque, Roy Tahil of Mampang and Momar Hassan of Sinunuc. They were arrested by men of the Police Station 11’s Investigation Section led Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines and men of the Sta. Maria Police Station.

Delumpines and his men had been monitoring the activities of the gang as it was setting schedules for the selling of stolen motorcycles.

Delumpines and his men swooped down on San Roque, arrested three of the suspects and recovered five stolen motorcycles

Another operation jointly carried out with men of the Sta. Maria Police Station led to the recovery of two stolen motorcycles. Five more were later seized in Mampang, bringing to 10 the total of recovered motorbikes.

The continuous operation resulted in the arrest of Delos Reyes and Ramos at Jumbo Bridge in Guiwan.

Gandawali told DZT that Tahil and Hassan were responsible for the stealing of motorcycles in the different places in the city proper while other members of the gang were tasked to look for buyers of the stolen motorcycles. – Dan Toribio Jr.
