Police have identified the man who was shot dead fronting the Edwin Andrews Air Base in Sta. Maria last Saturday morning.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo said the victim was Rodolfo Alvarez y Falcasantos, 42, of Tumaga.

A police report disclosed that the victim’s familyidentified him at the funeral parlor last Saturday afternoon.

Police learned that Alvarez was a former prisoner of the San Ramon Penal Colony where he served time for murder. He was just released recently.

Sta. Maria police station investigators were still digging deeper into the case.
Alvarez was driving a bicycle on his way to the city proper before 6 a.m. last Saturday when two men aboard a motorcycle appeared and the backrider shot him three times near EAAB.

The gunmen sped towards Baliwasan through Gov. Camins Avenue.
Alvarez was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
