Ten people aboard a Mitsubishi Delica van were injured when it turned turtle at Sitio Matawis, Tigbalabag Tuesday night.

A sketchy police report disclosed that the van came from Zamboanga Sibugay and was heading for the city proper when its driver whose identity was not mentioned in the report lost control of the steering bar causing the vehicle to turn turtle.

Police identified the passengers with injuries as Ednalyn De Guzman, 21and Gyneth Lustria, 15, both reportedly in critical condition and eight others who suffered minor wounds namely; Celso Sedigo, 51,Thomas Seiton, 42, Jesus Seiton,  48, Nonito Seiton, 46, Arjan  Seiton, 10, Gina Balunsay, 46, Elma De Guzman, 52, and Josephine Lustria, 50.

They were brought to a private hospital for treatment.

Earlier in the same barangay, Moner Sailela y Layling, who was driving a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck coming from Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, also lost control of the vehicle’s steering wheel due to heavy rain and bumped three motorcycles, a Honda XRM with temporary number 092801, another Honda XRM 125 with plate number 8850 SB and a Moto posh Pinoy with plate no. 8473 JR and a Zamcelco pole.

Both vehicles involved in the mishaps were brought to the police station for investigation. – Dan Toribio Jr.
