Ballroom dancing enthusiasts will get the opportunity of the decade to learn from renowned dance experts as the first Zamboanga City Tango Festival opens this Sunday, September 28.

Tango specialists Roberto Castillo and Julieta Biscione are set to give participants private dance lessons that will run September 28-30, from 12:00nn to 5:00pm at Regency Astoria Hotel.

Participants are expected to learn walking musicality techniques, posture and elegance; turns, transitions, sacadas and barridas; slow and quick sequences as well as join in to Milongas with the Argentinian dance partners.

According to http://txposed.wordpress.com, “Roberto Castillo started at the age of 12 in the Academaia de Estilos de Tango Argentino, where nearly all the tango dancers of this generation have studied and taught. And at the Tango World Championship (held naturally in Argentina), he won third prize three years in a row.

“Julieta Biscione combined her love of tango with studies in classical ballet, contemporary dance and modern jazz.  With her commanding presence on stage, Julieta exudes the elegance and confidence of a tango performer.

“Roberto & Julieta met in 2005. The duo knew they were meant to dance together, and have appeared in most of the hundred-odd tango shows in that country and throughout South America and Southeast Asia.  They are not only partner in dance but in life as well.”

The First Zamboanga City Tango Festival kicks off the activities for this year’s Zamboanga Hermosa Festival.
