Various goods and supplies were turned over to the City Government yesterday afternoon as support and assistance to Zamboangueños in need.

Members of the Zamboanga City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with City Mayor Beng Climaco at City Hall in order to turn over assorted relief goods for the victims of the recent Pasonanca fire.

The donations, which were provided by the Federation of the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, consist of 100 boxes of noodles, 20 boxes of noodles, 20 pieces of casseroles, 100 plastic plates, and 300 plastic cups.

The fire, which occurred Saturday, September 27 in Senteno Subdivision, engulfed some 40 houses and displaced 90 families. At least 40 are currently temporarily staying in Pasonance Elementary School.

Meanwhile, the International Organization on Migration (IOM) turned over five television sets to the City Government as part of their ongoing assistance for displaced residents from the September siege.

The television sets will be distributed to the different transitory sites to be used for entertainment and information purposes for the IDP communities.

Mayor Beng Climaco expressed her gratitude to the different groups for their continued support and compassion for the Zamboangueño people.
