DOST-FNRI forum on 8th Nat’l Nutrition Survey set on Oct 7 PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Science and Technology Regional through the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) and in collaboration with the National Nutrition Council (NNC) is set to hold a Regional Dissemination Forum on the 8th National Nutrition Survey (NNS) on 07 October 2014, at the Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City.

With the theme: “Juan Mission for a Well-nourished Nation,” the event aims to update key stakeholders on the official statistics on the food, nutrition and health status of the country.

DOST-9 Regional Director Brenda L. Nazareth-Manzano said that the forum will be participated in by City / Provincial / Municipal Nutrition Action Officers from various local government units in Zamboanga Peninsula and the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).  Representatives of national government agencies are also expected to attend the activity.

The forum promises to be informative as it will tackle important issues and recommendations for possible action points in application to local policy-making and program planning.

Among the topics to be discussed are: 1) Nutritional Status of Mothers, Infants and Young Children; 2) Selected Government Nutrition Interventions for Mothers, Infants and Young Children; 3) Nutritional Status of School Age Children and Adolescents; 4) Selected Government Nutrition Interventions for School Age Children and Adolescents; 5) Nutritional and Health Status of Adults; and 6) Selected Government Nutrition Interventions for Adults.

Experts from DOST-FNRI Manila will serve as resource speakers during the forum. — DOST-9
