600 Boy Scouts from Wesmin to attend National Jamboree PDF Print E-mail

A 600-strong contingent from Western Mindanao Region will attend the 15th National Scout Jamboree in Makiling, Los Banos, Laguna, it was announced by Boy Scouts Regional Chairman Mannix Dalipe via cell phone yesterday.

The active BSP Regional Chairman said that 12 Boy Scout Councils from Western Mindanao namely, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte, Lanao Del Sur, Cotabato City, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi have confirmed their attendance to the Scouting event.

The National Jamboree will be held this coming May 26-31 at Mount Makiling, Los Banos Laguna. Six days of educational and fun-filled activities are already set for the thousands of Filipino scouts. Vice President Jejomar Binay and Laguna Governor Jeorge Estregan  Ejercito Jr. will grace the activity. Dalipe who is already at the Boy Scout Camp in Makiling said the scouting spirit is already high in the air. We aim to instill a sense of patriotism and develop leadership skills of our young Filipinos through these challenging and educational outdoor activities Dalipe added.    “I am happy that the mighty Western Mindanao region is already set and ready to participate in this historical event” Dalipe concluded. Around 10,000 Boy Scouts from the entire country is expected to attend the “once in every four years” event.
