Mayor Celso Lobregat has called on the local police to expedite the filing of cases and the arrest of suspects in the numerous criminal cases—mostly believed to be results of personal grudge –that happened in the city recently.

Lobregat has conferred with City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin de Ocampo to get updates on the recent shooting incidents that happened in various parts of the city.

In most of the incidents, the suspects or assailants have been identified and the motives are results of personal conflicts.

“So there should be proper investigation, the filing of the necessary charges and the arrest of the suspects,” the mayor declared in an interview with City Hall reporters.

Nevertheless, he stressed the police and the military are exerting all efforts to maintain peace and tranquility in the city through intensified beat and mobile patrols. There is also a need to double efforts to implement the gun ban in the city.

“You cannot expect the police and the military to be everywhere all the time,” the chief executive said stressing that what is important is that “cases are being filed and the suspects or assailants are arrested.”
The police have pointed out that incidents motivated by personal grudge are among the cases that are highly unpredictable.

In recent days authorities have reported the arrest of suspects in some of the incidents including the settlement of a feud in Guiwan last week.
