A high school teacher is in hot water after a woman filed a complaint with the police alleging he abused her.

The complainant, a native of Basilan, went to Brigada News FM-Zamboanga to seek assistance relative to her complaint against Mr. Junierold Montes, a Mathematics teacher of Sinubong National High School.

She told Nonong Santiago, program anchorman at Brigada News FM that last June 17 she met Montes somewhere in the west coast area where during a conversation she told him she was looking for a job.

Montes offered to help her, saying his relative has a business in the city proper where a vacant position is available with P300 salary per day.

The complainant said she was invited by Montes to ride on his motorcycle in going to the city proper, but ended going to his rented house in Recodo.

She said when they arrived at Montes’ rented house he allegedly raped her inside his bed room.

The complainant added that she was padlocked inside the room for three days while she was trying to bring the matter to the police. Montes later promised her a marriage.

But since she was only 17 years old at that time, Montes told her that he would marry her when she turns 18 which was on October 5.

Montes allegedly convinced the woman not to bring the matter to the police saying in tagalog “mapapahiya ka lang”.

The complainant and Montes went to Pamucutan barangay hall where he signed an agreement that he will marry her when she turns 18.

Marie said she lived with Montes for more than a month expecting that he will marry her.

However last July 29 around 9 p.m., Montes arrived at the rented house bringing a woman with whom he allegedly had sex in front of her.

Last August 2,  she escaped from Montes’ rented house and reported the her caseto the Ayala Police Station. However  no action was taken by the police.

After Marie revealed everything on air, Montes also went on air to give his side and deny the woman’s accusation.

The management of Brigada News FM assisted the woman in going to City Police Director St.Supt. Angelito Casimiro to complain against Montes and to report the “no-action” response from the Ayala police station.

Casimiro ordered his men to investigate the case and prepare charges against Montes for possible violation of Republic Act 7610. — Dan Toribio
