39 tons of illegally mined coal, copper in 2 trucks seized PDF Print E-mail

Police intercepted at a checkpoint two trucks loaded with 39 tons of suspected illegally mined coal and copper in Poblacion Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay at dawn Friday last week.

A police report disclosed that policemen led by Insp. Errie Samuel Perater Bael under the supervision of Sr. Supt. Robert Roy Bahian, Sibugay police provincial director, were conducting a checkpoint around 2 a.m. when two Fuzo  trucks arrived.

Upon inspection, it was found out that the two trucks were transporting coal.  One of the trucks with plate number RLG 469 driven by Resty Calderon Lerones was loaded with some 29 tons of coal without permit from Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay. The second truck with plate number GEN 320 driven by Ardrian Denoyo Econar was loaded with more or less 10 tons of copper without permit from Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Said coal and copper were intended for delivery  to Cagayan De Oro City.
