MNLF member surrenders to military PDF Print E-mail

A member of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) surrendered to the military in Sacol island, this city last Tuesday.

Absar Kahal Alih surrendered to soldiers of the Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) and the 6th Special Forces Battalion, Special Operation Command, Philippine Army at the vicinity Barangay Landang Gua,

Alih, 23, and a resident of Barangay Landuang Gua, was immediately brought to Headquarters Joint Task Group Zamboanga. Per initial debriefing conducted, Alih is an MNLF mainstream member; however, subject disclosed that he did not participate in the Zamboanga siege on September last year.

Alih turned over a Garand rifle with defaced serial number and two upper camouflage uniforms with MNLF patches, according to Col. Andrelino G. Colina, commander of Task Force Zamboanga.

Troops continue to assist the PNP in the intensified law enforcement operations to expedite arrest of lawless elements responsible for the series of crimes in Mindanao, according to the Western Mindanao Command.
